Addiction Therapy and Recovery Counseling
What is addiction? Are you suffering from addiction?
Are you finding yourself constantly feeling like you have no control in your life? Are the people around you changing how they interact with you? Have you been questioning why you're continuing to engage in the same problematic or addictive patterns and behaviors no matter what you do to change?
Addiction can happen to anyone. No matter your background. No matter your socioeconomic status. No matter your gender or race. Addiction is the great equalizer. Pain is often the gateway drug to addiction.
We all have different types of pain in our lives and for some that pain can become too overwhelming to endure or manage. Whether it is physical pain or mental and emotional pain, everyone has a limit of what we can tolerate before it becomes unmanageable. When we feel overwhelmed we often look for things outside of ourselves to help quench or relive that pain.
Sometimes we seek drugs like Alcohol or Cannabis or Heroin.
Sometimes we seek comfort in food or exercise or gambling.
Sometimes we even seek it in engaging in high risk activities.
Change is possible. Healing and Recovery are possible. It all starts with being able to say some form of "I need help" or "I'm tired of living this way". Not everyone is ready to fully make a change when they initially seek help, but the process of talking to someone can be the first part of the change process.

Wellness Counseling: Making Room For Healthy Habits
Addiction has a way of taking up so much space in your life that there is little room for healthy habits. What are the patterns you notice? The first steps in recovery are admitting you have a problem and reaching out for help.
